Default Cam for a 416???

Need a cam for my 416. LS3 block, Lunati 4.0 crank, 6.125 rods, Wiseco flat top -3cc pistons, 11:3 to 1 compression, Fast 92/92 and last but not least
TEA TFS 235's
Track car only. TH -400 w/brake and around 5000 stall, 4:11 gears.
I need a bad *** cam for this set-up, not the biggest cam, but one that will work great with this set-up.

I have a custom grind in mind that would work great with that setup. Low 250's intake, high 250's exhaust. mid .600" lift. PM me if interested. We've used it with great success in builds such as yours. I'll give you the exact specs via PM.

Thanks,
Shane

We have a cam that I think you would like. It is a 253/264 HR110 0.601I, 0.585E. With a 6.2L and LS3 heads it makes peak tq around 4900 and peak horsepower around 6500. The HP on top was withiin 15 hp of peak for 1400RPM on top!!!! Oh, it does have a mean idle.

Similar to what a couple other guys have suggested, I had a cam speced by Futral that was 253/261 around .650 lift in my 408 that made great power. Several guys had the exact cam with good numbers back in the day.

I have a Schwanke 415 LY6 motor with AFR 225 Heads and a TREX. It went 6.89@100 in the 1/8th on 7 cylinders. Found out the TREX ate one of my LS7 lifters. I just bought the Texas Speed Giant Cam and I should be testing it at Pinks in Florida at the beginning of March.

250s cam works well, Its good to hear people are speccing bigger stuff for LS3, broken LS7 lifter? Never had issues with mine with 240s cam, had the motor down and there perfect, much better then the LS2 lifters and quiet, Most lifter issues stem back from the valve/spring combination and float and/or preload, which exerts the stress back to the lifter.

I like the Schwank recommendation.Only problem I see is the FAST choking above 6200rpm.With a 5k stall I would expect shift points at 7000-7400rpm.

Yeah, now I'm going with a Vic Jr and 4150 TB.
So now I need another cam choice.
It never ends.

Then I still stand by my answer since I brought out it should have that intake combo

In my car I run a smaller cam with more cubes and a super victor intake.
