Default Help with TFS/Harland install

Hey guys,

Just finished my buddies Head/Cam install on his 06 vette on Friday... He went with the following:

Thunder 224 cam
TFS 225 heads shaved .016
Harland sharp 1.7 rockers
7.500 pushrods...
.051 cometic gaskets

He was told all the above was the right way to go..

When I installed the rockers and pushrods I got 1 3/8's turns to get 22 foot pounds as Harland explains in the instructions...

He now says after he runs the car up to 5500 rpm's or so and then back to idle the car develops a slight miss...After a minute or two at idle it goes away...

Friday and Saturday it was fine. Now 2 days later its doing this....Gonna look at it tommorow and see what I can find...

Just wanted to ask, does it sound like the lifters pumping out?

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated

did you shim the rockers to the proper height?

I didn't install any shims, instructions said to tighten rocker to 0 lash, then see how many turns till the rocker bolt is torqued to 22 foot pounds. they said between a 3/4 turn to 1 1/2 turns on the bolt...

you need to shim the rocker so the roller is in the center of the valve stem at 0 lift. Most of the tfs heads require a .060 shim. Then you need to measure for the correct pushrod length from there.
