Not out yet.....VERY soon and we will also be releasing a large chamber version at the same time which we knew there would be demand for hence the slight additional lead time in the product release.

Should be available to purchase in two weeks or less....hopefully less!

I will update you with that products availability and final flow numbers soon.

Thanks,
Tony

From a thread in January 2008 about an upcoming LSx AFR 235 head. The full thread is here

Personally I think AFR dropped the ball by not offering a 6 bolt configuration for the larger heads. JMO.

I would love to know the ratio of people that voice there concerns about the six bolt deal that would really need it? My guess its a low number.

Yes....in a heavy nitrous or forced induction combination it would be an asset (1000+ RWHP), but in anything less its really window dressing.

If you dont have an aftermarket block its obviously a waste of time.

That said, we are looking into the tooling costs associated with our current castings to convert them to a six bolt design....we realize in some applications it certainly is a benefit and the airflow figures of these head will certainly produce retarded power in forced induction applications (more on that soon in a thread I start when I officially get word we can take orders).

Even if we were to move in that direction (a six bolt head) it would likely be many months before we could produce something....close to six if I had to guess.

Anyway....we arent looking the other way guys.....just realize the real demand for it is low and we have a dozen other projects and irons in the fire right now....including finishing the large chamber version of this head (the first version available will be the 65cc version.....73-75 cc to be launched 30-60 days later).

Thanks,
Tony

Cost of tooling and lead time and time to market VS actual demand/sales projection........

Might make more sense for the to offer or even simply refer to someone who can modify to a 6-bolt instead of making a 6-bolt version.

For those who want 6 bolt, I believe some can convert most heads for ~300-500/pair......and really that's only ~100/pair more than the 6 bolt costs from the start.

Yep.....exactly the reason it hasn't happened yet....LOL

BUT....if we implement it across the entire line and include it in our future rect port offerings it starts to become more palatable regarding the tooling and foundry costs involved.

I'm aiming for 1400 flywheel hp on the next build... I will need the 6 bolt for sure at this point.
