Default TF 235's on a Ls3?

Has anyone done this? Given the fact that Ls3's come with good flowing heads I would bet thats the reason you never hear about it. Even though the heads flow well, they have some limit's, one being ptv if I am not mistaken. You also can't mill them very much. So the 235 seems like a good upgrade and will let you run a more traditional cam instead of these mysterious l92 split cams. What other benifits will there be?

maybe a more broad intake manifold choice ( assuming hood clearance isnt an issue ) . You could give yourself some pretty stout flow numbers with a cnc job on the LS3s I would think. But if you plan on going forced induction down the road, im sure aftermarket heads could gain you a thicker deck to work with as well.

What will the heads be going on? Just a stock 6.2l I would do the 225's but if the motor is a stoker then go with the 235's. The tq cure will be a lot better and the hp will also be up. TFS and fast intake are the best you can get imo.

ported LS3 heads are better on a 6.2 than TFS 235s. Lou from LG said it himself that the TFS 235s make more power done low, but after 4000rpms, the ported LS3 heads makes significantly more power afterwards. It's not worth swapping LS3 heads for TFS 235s.

TFS is doing a ls3 head and should be out around christmas. which means march of 2011.lol I can't see a stock ported head out performing a aftermarket head that has a better valve angle for air speed and flow and better velosity. It was like saying my stock ported ls1 heads would out perform my afr out of the box heads. I gained 40hp. The ported heads were from a top sponsor on here.
I guess anything is possable,i just can't see it. You can make great numbers, but how will they move the car down the track.

So why hasnt anyone used and ls3/tfs combo yet(at least on the forums that i know)None of the top ls builders recomend using these, they say go with ported l92's......I guess its just a pretty expensive gamble for something that really hasnt been tested...I would love to put a set of trick flows on my ls3...

Some people belive the ls3 is capable of 540-550rwhp with the 235 heads and fast 102 catheadral intake. I think they might right. Someone needs to try this as I dont think it would be a waste at all.

guys just go look around there plenty of info on the tfs 235 maybe not with the new 102 fast but at least with the 92 so just add like 10-20 more hp on top of what you find for the 102 change.

Hey if you want get a set of TFS 245 heads they flow even more Some where around here they made 600hp with the TFS head

Its not worth switching stock LS3 heads for TFS 235s, when more power can be had with ported L92s on the LS3.

"TFS 235 actuallys makes less power than ported L92s on a LS3.

From 2000 - 4000 rpms, TFS 235 makes more power than ported L92s, but after 4000 rpms, the L92s runs off from the TFS 235s."

You were better of going with a set of L92s. Why buy heads that were designed for a LS1/LS2?

Listen to what I say-

Smaller ports ( 225/235 ET/TFS/AFR/what ever head) will make more midrange and area under the curve. Im all about that.

Thats a quote from the link you provided by Louis at LG. Maybe thats why.

Its cheaper to do the ported ls3 heads b/c you all ready have the heads and the intake. But the reason why the ls3 heads make more power up top is because what are the intake runners like 250 vs. a tfs that is 225 or even a 235. I mean yeah the ls3 will make some more power up top but its whats gain DOWN below the power curve.

What is the intake runners on a stock ls3 head?

redcorvett2000-try because the tfs/trickflow ls3 is not on the market yet. maybe thats why you have not seen a test yet. tfs is helping Trick flow do the work on the new heads that are to be out by end of year. The l92 head is cheap to build and makes good power. People get wowed by the flow numbers. I still will spend the money on a better aftermarket head Over a stock ported head any day. I'm sure these heads will be pretty stout when on the market. I've been down this road before with my car, stock ported vs aftermarket afr's. Also redcorvette, most don't cam the l92 heads right and my bud in his 01 camaro w/ 383ci stock tfs 215 heads and a non ported fast made 500 hp on the same dyno i made 530hp on and he out pulls me by 2 full cars from a 4th gear roll starting at 70mph to 130mph.we both have m6,same size tires and 4.11 gears. All the top sponsors i talked with including vengeance told me it's because of the trick flow heads with the better design and speed which the air flows accelorates his car faster. Just my thoughts.
BLU BY U-well said my friend.
