ERL, isn't your 500ci. Superdeck II a 15k shortblock assembly?

The only competition I would consider for that would be that Katech Billet block...

I would prefer if you don't try to compare-you really don't know what our capabilities are.

Holy cow, where did I get 15k from??? That's a pretty good deal for that much motor! Is there ever problems with the deck plates and their sealing capabilities?

I would prefer you not worry about what I post. I know that you don't make your own turbos or deck plates... Or do you?

I will worry about what you post when it has our company's name in it.

Took a minute but i remember you now-your the guy who is the turbo expert because you read hot rod magazine.

Once again please don't try and compare us when you don't know what are capabilities are.Just because we don't build our own turbos or deck plates does not make us any less of a company. If and when we feel there is a demand for such in our business-we will do so.Until then we will continue to do what we do best-building some of the baddest LSx engines on the planet!

So turbos and deck plates are the bench mark for a legit "outfit" now?

I've seen some very intersting stuff at VA Speed that Shawn doesn't want me to talk about. Needless to say, they are a very complete machine/build shop.

There are plenty of capable engine builders in the LS world and its a free country so you can choose your builder based on your criteria. I am 100% confident you can get a hassle free high quality shortblock from Kurt Urban, ERL or Virginia speed.

We haven't had any issues with our deckplates. They are actually recessed down inside the block and we run a single layer embossed gasket in between the Superdeck II plate and the deck service. The ERL 500 CI Superdeck II is a very reliable engine and we are proud to have been the first to ever do this to an GM LS engine. They've been running since 2005.

How many ERL 500 CI engines exist?
