This is 500+ hp on a naturally asperated 302cubic inch chevy.
Usually there is no replacement for displacement. but i think this defys the rules.
it helps they put arao engineering heads on it.

I dont think it defies the rules....I think it follows the rules, ie peak HP at 7500 RPM. I wont even get into the 32 valve heads.

What lots of people dont really understand is RPM is a major key in making big HP, but its a double edged sword cuz RPM is hard on engine parts and expensive to buy.

If callies is willing to build a compstar crank in the stroke you want you will probably be looking at 1,000 more or less. Most likely you will have to order it through a local machine shop that has an account with them though.

Im sorry but this is not worth it... you can rev a 3.622" stroke well over 7k rpms... why spend extra money to go less stroke, if there are no displacement size regulations..

When I wanted nostalgia...I built a 427. I don't think there is anything more iconic.

Nobody is hating, just pointing out the reality. If you find that hateful change your panties.

Other than relocating the Coil Packs, please don't do this.

Nobody's hating. This is a performance forum and it's really contrary to give up cubic inches unless there is some class restriction.

All things being equal...a bigger motor is going to make more power.

Look up info on Daytona Prototype cars. Had to use GM intakes / heads, 302 cubes, 7000 rpm limit. These cars were putting down 500 rwhp with truck intakes and ported 243 heads.

This comeback is unsurprising given the topic...seems the engine isn't the only slow part.
