The only issue with putting the L92's on an LQ4 short-block is the compression drop. You're going back down to about 9.5:1 static compression or so (before milling and thin gaskets of course). What camshaft are you running?

With that compression, and depending on which bolt-ons you have exactly, I'd consider our Texas Speed 225/230 LS3 cam or similar!

Im pretty sure that LS3 aftermarket cams still have the rear cam sensor pickup on the camshaft.

All you have to do is tell them what application the cam is for, and they'll set you up with what you need. Because I have their 231/236 cam for an LS3/L92 in my LQ4. They'll just have it ground on a Gen III 3 camshaft, instead of a Gen IV.

When you order, we just indicate it is a 3 bolt cam core and everything, including the stock location cam position sensor, will work perfectly!

id be looking at a custom grind. l92's flow well enough that it takes a short duration cam to make most power.

I don't like a single one of those numbers for the L92 heads.

mine is 234/242 .598/.593 114 and i made 523WHP and 468WTQ peak with >400lb/ft from 2800-6700rpm. i think the last 3 numbers are fine... with 39 more cubes anyway.

dont overlook what Matt said above about compression... personally i think youd be putting a lot of money in while getting very little out. in addition to the heads, you will need a new intake manifold so get ready to do the 'full intake' again. The heads will flow a ton but with the killed compression i think you may come out even on power and possibly down on torque with those huge gaping intake ports killing velocity.

was planning on milling the heads and running thin head gaskets even if i got compression to 10 to 1 would it be worth it.

LQ4 pistons have a dish, right?

watch getting a big cam anyway... my cam did not have enough clearance with my LS2 bottom end unless my L92s were unmilled and using a GM .052 gasket

good luck

They may be a dish, but they don't have valve reliefs so as stated, check your PTV again.
