Default *NEW*Jesel Belt Drive for RHS Block

Well after a few weeks of R n D Jesel now has the Belt Drive set-up for the RHS Block. Here are pictures of the very first one done. I sent them my block and they made it happen.

You still do have to machine a little off the block to make it work but it is something worth doing.

You can see on the edges where the block had to be a little wider for the inner plate.

The main set-up

wow, this is honestly the first belt drive ive seen. obviously ive dealt with single/double roller chains, and i even have an extra gear drive out in my garage right now, but thats pretty cool..

is it just the lighter alternative? whats durability like?

They tend to not move around or stretch as much as a chain set-up. It also allows you to access the cam very easy. Behind the big cog that bolts to the cam is a plate that can come out in the matter of min to remove the cam. That will make swaps really easy.

You also can degree or move the cam very easy since the whole set-up is exposed. What you see is how it is on the motor. It makes it very clean and easy to work with.

Check out my build. I have a lot more pictures on the post.

Default Jesel Belt

Definitely looks trick, easy access, no slop compared to a chain but....

expensive and it adds 0 horsepower. Engine Masters ran a dyno test (SBC,BBC) comparing single chain, dual chain, single idler gear drive, dual idler gear drive and a jesel belt drive. At the end of the testing, there was no HP difference between a chain and a belt. My 540 BBC ran a Jesel and we saw nothing even though it claims to free up some HP. It will allow you to degree cams and swap cams EASILY and I am sure the longevity is great, but I can't justify the $$ for my next build

I've put Jesel BDs on SBC and BBC before, but never seen one on an LS and never really thought about it. The RHS block has a raised cam which requires a different timing set right?

Yes, the cam is raised .398 or 2 links in a chain.

Is the belt drive already available for the non-RHS blocks?

Yes you can get it for a LSX or RHS Block. To run it on them the block needs to be machined. I'm sure they even make it for a stock LS block. I think the did them for the C5 racing stuff. It is really nice.

I'm really not sure off the top of my head. I'm out on the road at a race. If you call Jesel and tell the a belt drive for a LS RHS block they will know. It really is the best option for the block.

Thanks
