My cam is a 221/226, .567, .564, on a 114LSA, and -4 overlap. This cam works great N/A or boosted, functions with a 2100 converter or higher and operates from 2000-6400. If you wanna get really rowdy Pat will spec you out a MF for the L92 heads. E.P.S will most likely grind it and Geoff is a really really nice guy that will work with you. I never liked off the shelve Comp grinds. I always ran Lunati, Cam Motion or Iskendarian before I found out about Pat. So there are some better choices in my opinion. Specially for a race car.
Is that a Lunati grind? Stock bottom end? Intercooler?

Sounds cool

I'd say that's a great choice for your car

Idriveag8, wouldn't you benefit from some more lift?

It doesn't really matter as much with the boost.... FI changes the ballgame....
actually may help with valve float......

Exactly what bozzhawg said. With that lift I build 10 Lbs of boost, Don't float valves and all I had to do was change to Nitrided .600 springs, and didn't require harder pushrods for the RPM I turn. Note: I did make that horsepower with some tweaked LS3 heads and hollow valves, so it's not ALL cam.

Maybe huge cams aren't working with L92/LS3 heads not because they are too big but because they aren't big enough...Someone will eventually put in something like 264-274 @.050 in there with a composite intake. Then we'll see...

L92 heads don't like massive overlap and duration though. They make crap for power. A local shop tried a 266/261 and that engine miserably failed with 390ish at 4400. Sounded radical though.

Idriveag8,never saw a cam with more duration on the intake then the exhaust,no wonder it ran like crap.

There's history in the LSx platform to justify trying it. LS1's respond nicely to reverse splits for street use. I'll bet the LS2 with its crappy stock intake would do ok with a reverse split. too. It's a great way to build a lot of midrange torque while keeping overlap down (i.e. better drivability). The trade off is power will drop off a little faster past peak.

I understand that, but l92 heads are known for weak exhaust ports, why would you stick a cam like that in.

Its not that they have weak ex ports, its that the intake valves are radically large and flow BIG air at low lifts compared to the exhaust . This effects the necessary cam timing.
