Question Question on stroking a LQ

I just got off the phone with a shop in my area; it is considered one of the best here in Florida so I am at ease with their workmanship, but was a little confused as to some machining of the block for my stroker kit.

I have a Pre-04 LQ4 block and will be stroking it to a 415 or 425, not sure the pistons yet. Anyhow, I thought that I read that the crank will drop in with out having to clearance the block, in fact the only real machining that I will need on the block is the decking, line hone and cylinder boring. Is this indeed correct, because that is a savings of $300.

Here are the specs on the assembly:

Crank: 4.125
Rods: 6.125
Pistons: .005 or .05 (even thinking of going .08)

Thanks guys!

I've sent out PMs to all the prominent builders here and it seems that a lot of them don't want to use customer supplied parts.

My rotating assembly is brand new... I mean hell... I'm not about to sell my Callie Magnum XL crank for an Eagle assembly build; that crank alone cost as much as a complete Eagle short block build, lol.

I'm just looking for info on what needs to be done to a LQ block to accommodate a 4.125 crank and 6.125 rods. I was under the impression that it will drop right in, but from some conversations and reads, I'm not sure if I am correct.

And for the matter, what needs to be done to a L92 for the same assembly? I am still giving thought to using a L92, but I already have a LQ.

It will need to be clearanced. With a 2.10" journal, sometimes even the 4.0" stroke cranks need to clearanced.
