Question 402" LS2 hi rpm crank deflection/oil pump issues?

OK i inspected my oil filter media and found small pieces of non ferrous appears to be aluminum sprinkled through out. Motor ran great for 3 outings since last oil change. My question is does anyone find this with their builds?
Im thinking maybe oil pump self clearancing from callies 4" crank deflection at say 7800 rpm? Anyone have experience with this?
It is running better than ever, 9.97@131.5 mph shifting at 7500 going threw at about 77-7800.

PICS? Or pull the pan and see whats going on. as long as tweaked the windage tray for the 4.000 crank, This is the first I have heard of any issues with our crank and particle matter.

Motor is coming out tonight for tear down and inspection. I am by no means aiming this at Callies, i am extremely happy with their quality vs. price ratio.
My questions are with the possible need to center with feeler gauges the front crank driven oil pump before cinching the housing fasteners tight. I am turning a few hundred more rpm than i want to at the finish line (loose converter losses) and was wondering if anyone had issues or answers with this also?

I got a stock crank in my 6.0L and I turn 7700+ every pass. I have had zero issues so far, but it the oil pump was put on and centered with a set of feeler gauges...

Ok found #3 cylinder hydraulic roller lifter pin loose and gouged bottom of lifter bore. Also Pistons where oil ring rail support rides on piston pin bore has real thin edges that have all either flaked off or bent and readi to come off. That is the material i found in my filter. Whew no carnage!

Diamond flat tops and Cadillac CTS race hydraulic lifters.

I have maybe 60 passes and 25 dyno pulls on it. The roller bearing pin axle appears to have insufficient swedge to keep it from walking out. I believe it was defective, not failed from mis- use. I caught it because it gouged the lifter bore slightly and made a fine mist in the oil. I intend on replacing it and i tested the rest they are ok.
Also i was able to trim the thin edges of the pistons pin bore area and they are fine to reuse. I also had slight piston to head contact with .039" quench clearance with +.011" deck height and .040" gaskets. I will adjust this with .045" gaskets, i like this as tight as possible.

Question

Replacement lifters #12576400 have axle retainer clips to prevent walk. Im happy to see this, but curious to see if they will turn 7800 with out excess oil flow up top and anti pump up features? I run around .030" preload anyone running these near 8k?

See the GM lifters lose the axles every single week it seems on abusive apps that comne to us for repair. Valvetrain is getting hairy to do that though. Maybe lobes are too much for the springs and stuff you have at 7800 rpm. We use Morels on anything like that just because of that issue and also run smoother lobes for really high rpm.

That is extremely high revs for any hydraulic lifter or cam. Why dont you run a solid roller cam. Just a thought.

I use the Ferrea 175lbs @1.740"/490 lbs@1.080" 1.300" dual pacalloys
on SP and RP lobes from Comp. This combination was greenlighted by Billy Goldbolt himself. The lifters#12576400 have wirelock retainers for axle pins so i feel much better running them. There is no signs of lofting or loss of contact on any of the lobes or lifter bearings. I am contemplating hollow stem factory style L92 valves . Valve seats are not pounded either nice and clean.
What benefits would i see with Morels? My lifters weigh 128 gms btw.

The L92 heads dont support larger springs IMO so its a matter of all or nothing, meaning Jesel shaft system adjustable($),valve cover spacers, solid lifters, aftermarket head with unlimited installed height potential and larger spring pockets. This motor pulls clean to almost 8k no signs of power dropoff.

If your system is in control maybe none but the Morels even the normal ones seem to be able to take more pressure than the OEMs before bleeding down. I use them a lot where they might be abused or over revved for insurance really most of the time.
