Would a 231/243 be good for a stroker?

Planning on putting a 416/418 stroker kit in my LS3. Currently my motor is cam only with bolt on's. Cam is 231/243 .617/.626 115+4. For the immediate future I plan to continue to run stock heads until later on switching to an aftermarket casting. I like this cam alot in my C6. Great power and good manners. Would it be good to keep this cam or do I need to consider another size while the motor is out. I am willing to give up some peak HP to keep good driveability. I know there has been alot of new grinds come out since this one and I'm wondering if one of those has been proven to be better suited for my new application and expectations.
Thanks

Selecting a cam is going to require more details from you then what you have supplied. Can you give detail as to the engine it self, your power goals, your expected use of the vehical, more details on the vehical itself like gears, trans, etc.
That cam might be perfect for what you are wanting, but we really need alot more details before any advise can be given.

sure, Car is a 2008 Corvette. Manual transmission, 3.42 rear end, Z51 gearing in the transmission. Car is a sunny day toy. Currently it is making approx 490 rwhp and 467 rwtq. I would hope with a stroker motor I could see 550/550 without losing driveability. Also if I could pick up more HP and Tq at lower RPM compared to my current setup I would be more than willing to give up peak numbers.

That cam would be a nice daily driver in the 418, I would think. It is defenetly not the biggest thing you could stuff in it. I am tempted to say stick with it because it should act even more mild then it does now, but it might be a little shy of hitting the 550/550 goal by itself, unless you do some supporting mods too. I would think that cam, the 418, 11:1 compression, some nice port work with supporting intake would easily get you there, and would be a "sleeper" too. Not to mention a good tune from a shop that tunes more then just WOT.
I would be tempted in keeping that cam for the 418 and doing some other symple mods to complement it.

You won't see 550/550 from a 418 with that cam unless you spend some bucks doing the heads and putting a good aftermarket ported intake/TB on it.
As far as cam recommendations, I wouldn't hesitate to contact Patrick G for a recommendation. He is one of the best ones out there and is very good at picking the right cam grinds for rectangle port heads.
With your current heads/intake you might see 525/500 out of a 418.
Good luck and keep us posted.![Nod](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_nod.gif)
