Default cam opinions!

im building a lq9 with 2010 camaro ls3 heads, intake, throttle body,4l60 in a 3400lb car, i have a ls hot cam i was thinking about using specs 218/227/525/525 112 lsa, any suggestions?

I was trying to figure out what cam to use in my lq9,I have a ms4 in my ls1 and was thinking maybe throwing that in there,but imho I would go with something bigger than the hot cam,

What are you doing with the car? Do you want it to lope at all? Will you be putting a stall converter in it? We will need more information before we can offer any help. Hot cams don't typically pick up a lot of power, just sound. There are many cams out there that will pick a lot more power and still retain the good driveability of the hotcam.

its just a weekend cruiser and a lead foot! i would like a rough idle with good drivability, i was thinking about a small stall converter but not sure about what my choices are. thanks.

There are plenty of choices from mild to max effort; look in the automatic transmission forum.

A higher stall converter allows for a higher idle speed and really opens up the cam choices. It will also make you much quicker. I definitely get one.

I have the same cam made 469rwhp with a 2800 stall and drive it every day. LS2 with unported LS3 heads milled .030

Yeah you can definately step up in cam and still retain some driveability. Something like the 227/235 or 229/236 would work well but you will need a converter. I would recommend a 3000-3200 converter at the smallest for either of those cams.
