G'day everyone, just looking for some advice/recommendations on good engine shops who could supply a quality 427 LS3 short assembly... It will be used in a 600+HP n/a application down here in Australia... At this stage looking at sourcing AFR V2 230cc heads & ported FAST 102 through Tony Mamo.
If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it, especially if they can recommend a vendor willing to ship internationally.
Many thanks,
Dave.

We ship internationally every day and would gladly help you out.
Here is a thread on one of ours (it's a longblock) and a few people also chimed in to say they have had great luck with our engines.

Let me know if I can help you. We also deal AFR and have a good relationship with Tony Mamo, so we could get you any of the parts you need

best prices i have found by far. been in business for a very long time. they are building my cast iron 6.2L.
I believe the cast iron 427 shortblock is like $3500

I would get this one, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3066-...Q5fCarQ5fParts
just add $900 for the aluminum block upgrade.
Shipping looks like it would be $800~$1000 to you.

We've been doing these L92 based 427s the day the L92 came out and have been doing them for years now. We only do them for NA usage and use our own custom pistons and rods due to the short cylinders of the LS3/L92 block. It's a few extra inches and the parts are nice and very light so they seem to work pretty well.
The number one and two fastest NA hydraulic roller pump gas LSx deals at the time (93X-9.4Xs @ 143-146mph) and many were those deals so they held up well even at the 600+ RWHP mark. We use a longer rod and a shorter ring stack to keep more skirt in the cylinder at BDC with these 4.100 and 4.125 stroke deals.
We have even run a 4.250 stroke in these blocks but that is race only and NA only with room for detonation.

HKE, VA Speed, Vengeance Racing/Proline Racing Engines, Texas Speed, SDPC, or Speed Inc.
Any of those places could build you what you want and would the engine would probably last a long time IMHO.
Another person you can contact would be Kurt Urban.
All of the above that I named, I wouldn't hesitate AT ALL to deal with for an engine.
Good Luck with finding what your looking for.

Thankyou everyone for the recommendations so far I'll be sending emails & PM's to all the mentioned parties over the weekend and see what we can come up with. Even preliminary pricing is coming up miles better than what Aussie speed shops are talking, even accounting for freight and import duties. For those that are interested it is for a customer of mine with a VZ Commodore ute (think a Pontiac GTO or G8 but with 2 seats & a well body tray), I guess much like a modern day El Camino. It currently runs the Australian version of the L92, dubbed the L76 here and goes without the DOD & VVT. Basically the customer is tired of being left behind by his mates with their supercharged LS cars, or turbo'd Ford Falcons. He wants to show what can be done to 'non-cheater' way of big cubes in a modern package. What better way to do it than 418-454ci with killer heads & intake making brutal torque through the mid range, excellent throttle response and great top end power! All things I've witnessed from several big ci engines on these forums. I'll keep you updated with how we go!

We have built many ls3's in N/A, F.I. as well as nitrous and can help you every step of the way with additional parts as well as shipping. We have several options on heads and can help you nail your horsepower goal, if not exceed it!

OP, Lots of vendors out there, just research and don't jump on the "BEST DEAL" b/c sometimes they can end up not being so great! Just my Oppinion.
That's all I'm saying, I'm not knocking anybody or any sponsor on this site. I have read good and bad with almost all of them. But it's the cstomer service that goes a long way, as well as the overall finished product.
-Good Luck!
