Your converter is very vital since its efficiency helps determines how well you multiply the torque and put the power to the pavement.
Just think of the stall as a tool to take you into a desired powerband or rpm range of your combination. Even though I have used 2 of them before, I will not sway you to one over the other, just call all of them and they should be able to help you pick something out... Then choose the one you feel comfortable with and will do what you need it to do.
