Default 114 vs 112

hey guys, im putting a LS# in my 00 bird and the only thing im not sure on is the LSA of my cam.
im going LG G6X3 i dont know if i want a 112 or 114 LSA?
it has a stock bottom, AFR 225 heads and LS3 intake.
it will be a daily driver however i love a choppy idle, however i dont wanna fight with it at every red light!!!!! whats your opinion on the LSA

well i dont know the specs on that cam off the top of my head. but IIRC its a larger one. the 112 lsa will bring the tq curve lower in the rpm range. If you arent scared to rev it go with the 114 as you have plenty of head/intake flow to make power up around 7k. if you are wanting to stay below 6500 id go with the 112. With a good tune you dont have to fight it. My cam is on a 112 and it has great manners. Its a little tricky in reverse and it bucks a little when you are creeping through a parking lot.

I think tune will have most to do with the driveability when coming to a stop. I would go 112 LSA if you are looking for the choppy idle and better powerband.

Ls3 heads and intakes have square ports. Ls1,2, and 6 have cathedral ports. Just double check all your stuff before you get parts that dont work together.

113 LSA is a good compromise of chop and driveability. Still sounds awesome thru a cutout

The question is again, how are you going to put cathedral port AFR 225 heads on with a square port LS3 intake?

the person i'm getting the parts through builds motors all the time, i am assuming that you can get the AFR225's with either style port

As far as I know AFR 225's only come with a cathedral port. I am not sure that they ever made those heads for an LS3 style intake manifold.

The person who's getting the parts for me and having the motor built. He owns a shop in kentucky, he said they come with either style port.
