HKE here, they are all great builders but there is a reason you have to wait a little a HKE

But doesn't a ERL 454 (4.185borex4.125stroke) at its limit bore wise? No room for overbores.

Thumbs up ERL coming

Just got a call from ERL today my LS3 M1 Dry sleeved 427 Stroker is on the truck. All the engine builders listed have great references. I got a assembled short block. Now planning my build.

Lots of good builders, I can only say I have had no issues with my AES build.

i've done business with damn near every sponsor on this site, no horror stories from any of them.

However, Tony Mamo and HKE are two of my top 3 picks, like mentioned before in the thread. Be prepared to wait if you go with HKE, but you will get what you pay for and expect from a shop with thier reputation. Mamo is a kickass guy to deal with too, another case of high-dollar parts/work, but you get what you pay for with him too. Tick Performance is the other in my top 3, in case anyone is wondering, their customer service and care is 2nd to NONE. Period.

Shoot man, you every gonna do anything with this dang car???? I'll put a vote in for TSP, you know how i beat on my 402 at the track, it runs strong as hell. Dont have experience with anyone else out there. Oh and another +1 for Tick! I got my clutch/flywheel/speedbleeder/Master cyl from them, great to deal with, plus they're locals (somewhat) to us.

I've dealt with LME a couple of times and both times they surpassed my expectations in workmanship and care down to the packaging (overseas). Both motors still running, one 370 for strip/street (over 30000 km) in desert heat and sand and one 402 street but blown with 10 psi (25000 km DD)

Jason, that's some pretty interesting info. When did TSP acquire this equipment and begin to do everything in house instead of using sunset race craft?

So in 1 day you went from forged LS1 347, to a LS2 402, to a LS3 413-418 lol.. make your damn mind up lol..

LME makes great motors and is going to be cheaper than HKE/ERL and built faster too most likely.

Get off the N/A train already!

Man, ive changed my mind like 500 times, its gonna be built for NA, but ill end up throwing some nitrous on too....definently keeping the 6 speed but its gonna be faceplated

Im doing the shortblock first, paying it off then doing a custom cam, either tf 235's , afr 230's or maybe the newer PI heads, ported fast 90. Not too worried about the budget since im piecing it together

LME, HKE, or Tony Mamo would be a solid choice.

Quick Reply: HKE, LME, or ERL for shortblock build ?
