Default ls2/ls3 build...k1? Need advice

I'm doing a ls2 stroker build with a ls3 top end. I was going to go with k1's 4.000" cranks and stroker rods with arp 2000 bolts. How do you guys feel about that? Also pistons...should I go with wiesco's or some other brand. It's going to be a daily driver N/A. Also what compression ratio pistons should I be buying I have no problem running 92 octane fuel. I wanted reliable 500rwhp.

Thanks,
John

In my experience the K1 stuff is on the same level as the Callies Compstar line. I'm partial to Wiseco for the pistons, but that's not to say some of the Diamond and other manufacturers don't make a nice piston too. I have just been exceptionally pleased with the service Wiseco offers before and after the sell in case any problems arise (it happens with every manufacturer), as well as their offerings having the quality components without having to pay extra for items like skirt coatings, steel top rings, etc!

Should I go with the 4.000 inch stroke or the 4.100 inch? Also I was thinking of running like 11.0:1 maybe a few points higher. I need it to be very reliable.

For a more reliable combo I'd go 4.0" stroke.

I had one of Texas Speeds forged 370's with PRC 227 heads installed in my Goat by SNL. It made 480rwhp on a 95* day with a non-ported FAST 92 and little 1 3/4" Kooks headers. 500 should be a breeze on a stroker with the right combo of parts, and the LS3 top end flows pretty damn well. I was running about 11.5:1 CR on 91 octane pump gas with no problems.

Wow 11.5:1 on 91 that's awesome. I'm going to go with the -8cc wiesco's with the 4.000 inch crank and stroker rods. I'm also going to go with the coated clevite rod bearings and 3/4 groove mains also coated. I adjust the deck thickness of the ls3 heads and thinner head gasket if needed.

I think I'm going to go with the -3cc pistons.

Sorry, I looked back at some info on my motor. It was closer to 10.5:1 static CR.
