Default Barbell installation

My LS6 short block took a dump and I bought a LS3 and I'm rebuilding it now. I have a question, can you help?

I installed the barbell in the oil galley like I did in my LS6 block. I do have the new style barbell however it doesn't go all the way in like my other block. It's almost flush with the block surface but it sticks out about 1/16". It should be flush with bottom of the chamfer Right?

Thanks Ron

Should be flush or slightly below flush. Did you lube the o-rings?

Thanks, Ya I did. It seems to bottom out. When I bought the new barbell I made sure that it was correct one for the block. 2011
I think I'll mic it. It's just not right.

Does the o-ring seal tight to the block in the back?
