Default LS2 swap worth it?

I have a 2000 ls1 z28 a4 with 155k miles. I picked up some fully assembled 243's, a v3 cam shaft and ls2 timing chain to do a h/c swap. I was just going to upgrade the ls1 with these parts but i just had a buddy offer me a bare LS2 block for a pretty good price. Now im throwing around of idea of doing an ls2 build instead. Ill be selling my R6 this spring around income tax season for about 4500 so ill have some cash to throw around. Would this be worth the money? I could pick up a stroker kit from tsp for around 2,500..send the 243's to tea to get ported, ported ls6 intake and the v3. If not just the heads and cam idea and throw a procharger on it instead of the stroker kit. The block is bored .25 over. Would this be an idea to do or would it be a waste of money and maybe i should just do the ls1?

plus a 6.0 block is definetly a upgrade because it allows you to run ls3 style heads.

Yea i hear you, thats what i was thinking fresh new engine and maybe hand the ls1 down to my little brother for his car. My car has all highway miles its a b4c car the engine runs perfect my buddy had a 150k mile ls1 with a D1SC and it ran really good he never had any engine problems, he recently sold it and as far as i know he has not had any problems with it.

Exactly what i want to do, i have a few good builders in my area that could help me out. The only thing about stroker motors is i hear they dont last very long from people on here. It is my dd right now but wont be next year since im looking to buy a newer better dd(cobalt SS) so it wouldnt get driven as much.

What? I have never heard that, not once. In fact, due to their forged parts and other stronger, higher end components if anything they should last much LONGER than stock

You can make big power with stock cubes on the 6.0L motors. My LS2 with a cam and full bolt-ons made 480rwhp in an IRS M6 GTO. You don't have to go with a stroker crank to make those numbers. It's common to see 450-460 on a cammed LS2. Buy a stock crank and rods, good rod bolts, pistons, and rings, and throw it together. Then you could Procharge it if you wanted to.
