Default Single or Dual Exhaust for 416?

Thoughts on going to a true dual vs. single system for a street driven 416 with cats? Nothing wild here, looking for 525-550 rwhp on new build.

Pricing out options and Kooks dual looks great. Big question - are duals required for this level of power and will the extra cost be justified?

Lastly, not looking for a lot of noise

I tried a couple searches but really could not find anything close.

If each solution is big enough, then it shouldn't matter.

A properly sized and flowing single exhaust can make power just as well as a properly sized and flowing dual.

Now a dual exhaust with an x/h pipe might sound better, either one is fine as long as you do it right.

3"inlet/4"outlet FM merger, into a Mufflex 4" cat-back w/Magnaflow single out muffler(98402CM) would be a good option.

Kooks dual vote here too! One of those "grow into", no excuses mod's

By the time you get done "piecing" a system together as noted above ^^^^ , for a few hundo more, you can have a system that you may never outgrow.

^^ very true, OP your looking at $1350 with free shipping on the kooks true duals. By the time you put another system together you will be very close to that price, might as well go with the kooks.

Yeah, if the kooks true dual setup in within you budget it's your best choice, but there's no reason you can't put together a y-pipe/single pipe cat-back system under $1000.

I agree with 99Bluz28. figure out the size pipe you need for the application and whether you want a Y into a single exhaust or true duals with H or X pipe and what muffler you want. then go to your local exhaust shop (make sure they have a good reputation some of them are crooks) tell them where you want it to exit. this idea should come in at well below 1300 and be as good or better. some people just dont even think about going to the local guy, they just say 'well i want a catback so i have to pull out a wad of cash and buy a bold on kit or whatever.. no says I. lol.

I just bought a custom 3 in true dual system off a local member to me for my 416 but I believe a Mufflex system would still do the trick for a 416. Still think about going with it sometimes. I just love the sound of Spintech mufflers

Another item to factor into the Kooks dual exhaust is a PHB relocation kit( around $200), unless you have a MWC fab9 w/watts link.

I sent you a PM on who has them for $1350, it's a sponsor on here but they don't like to advertise that price, you have to call them to get it for $1350.
