2011 silverado 418 stroker valvetrain
I am having a tremendous amount of valve-train (sewing machine) noise that can be heard from a major distance. Just put new trunion bearing rockers on, and I have the 7.4 pushrods in it. I just ordered a comp pushrod checker, but i'm just brainstorming on what it could be if my rod length isn't wrong. Do I need shorter rods? Or could it be lifters? I have the stock lifters. It runs great, and burns very little oil. I just can't live with the noise any longer, for it is my daily driver. I'd be extremely appreciative for any input. Thank you!!
Yould also look for some kind of engine cover that GM uses to reduce noise in these motors, Escalades/ Vortec MAX, etc. You can get them fairly cheap and it should help. Or in an extreme case even a cam with Comps new LXL exhaust lobes that is designed to reduce valvetrain noise. I know the cam you have now makes great power, Ive installed it in a few engines, so something similar in size.

About the noise, i would use a stethoscope, from harbor Freight, about $5. to locate it, i ones send a pair of lifters back to the manufacturer thinking they were noise, it turn out to be noise fuel injectors.
