Default LS7 cam help please

Need some cam help with my build. I am building a 427 with WCCH ported Brodix LS7 heads and a Fast 102 intake. The block is a ERL dry sleeved LS2. Looking at about 11.5 to 1 comp. I am running 1 7/8 headers with full 3" exhaust with an x pipe. The car is my 79 Z28 with a six speed and 3.90 gears. It is mostly a street car that does some autocross and I'd like to try alittle roadracing too. It would be great if I could see 580 rwhp and keep decent street manners and good low and mid range torque.

Sorry for the long winded explanation but I wanted to get all the important info out there.

Simple question but did you ask WCCH for any input? Sounds like a great build.

Default Ls7 cam

I also had ERL build me a 430 CI LS7 for my Pontiac. I had Geoff at EPS grind me a custom cam for my combination. I gave him all of the specs on the cylinder heads, car, and what type of performance I wanted. He can do the same for your car. He is on the site.

Ask WCCH and custom grind seem like the best two options.

Here's my results...

1969 Camaro, t56, LME 430 (ls7 block, .005 over) stock ls7 heads, ported stock intake and TB, Katech Torquer cam (110 lsa), 1 7/8 headers w/3 inch exhaust. Ford 9inch with 3.70 gears. Good street manners.

Motor has GREAT torque and is much better than the bigger previous cam that made the same peek power, but less (40ft/lb less) torque and less driveability (243/253 on 113 w/.630 lift).

This is a basic setup that really works for me!!!

I forgot to ad that with your heads, intake, and TB you should easily reach your goal with the Katech Torquer cam, and will have GREAT torque to boot!

Got the recommended cam specs from Richard at WCCH today. It is alittle milder than I expected but he said it would make the best average power. It was 231/239 at .05
