You need to have the camshaft specified for whatever intake manifold you are to be using so it can make peak power in the correct rpm range for the application.

If you wanted to use a different intake it would require a difference in camshaft profile for that intake manifold.

Stock style intake manifolds can't utilize the same ivo and ivc that a single plane can. A stock style intake manifold it is out of breath and won't make peak power anywhere after 6700-6800rpm where as a single plane can make peak power all the way up to 8500rpm+ if wanted.

A +5cc piston and a 67.5cc chamber with a stock .052 gasket will get you there.

Wiseco makes a 5cc dome in a 4.030" bore as that is what I was going to get before I went with a 4.065" bore in my 415. Use that piston and mill 2.5cc's off the head to get to 11.5:1 OR use that +5cc dome and a .040 gasket to get to 11.5:1.

I don't think there are many off the shelf cams that will make the power you want through manifolds and even with a custom cam I still don't think you'll hit 500rwhp, but 460-470rwhp would be more realistic.

Where are you going to shift this thing?

I'll tell you this it's going to have a big intake to exhaust split in it that's for sure.

where ever it needs to be shifted I really dont care just when it stops building power.

235/252 .624"/.595" 112+3 is what I would do. If you're using an aftermarket 4.030 piston it will have pretty generous valve reliefs made into the slug already. You won't need to fly-cut, but measure just to 100% sure anyways.

That cam has 19.5 degrees of overlap which is close to the amount my cam does that I showed you in my idle clip I posted on the previous page. It will sound close to mine so don't get caught up on the 112LSA. I had to do the 112LSA to actually keep the overlap down some as too much can be a bad thing. You don't want to over-scavenge a stock intake as they have long runners as is and velocity will be higher because of this. Now with the LS3 heads though overlap seems to help port velocity to some extent due to the big by huge intake runner they have and overlap can help with building some port velocity to raise torque production across the board.

I still can't guarantee 500rwhp, but I will say we had a 5th gen here at the shop the other day that had Ai 270cc LS3 heads, Fast 102/92 intake and tb combination, 1x7/8" ARH headers and ARH exhaust with a mid 230's intake duration low 240's exhaust duration camshaft in it and it made 507rwhp and 466rwtq on our eddy current dyno jet which reads a good bit lower than inertia style dyno jet's do.
