Aftermarket heads ( PRC, TFS, AFR ...etc ) usually make more power than worked over 243 casting heads. Especially on stroker setups.

Did you ask Cartek if these would work well for your 408?

not always true about aftermarket casting. a buddy of mine has a set of #243's that out flow tfs 235's in all areas he has under 2000$ into them as well with valves and springs

but if you dont know a great local head porter you cant go wrong with AFR or TFS not a fan of prc my self but tony mamo and brian tooley are both top notch

I wanna see proof some ls6 castings out performed some tfs 235. The fastest lsx runs tfs 235 still as far as I know.

proof well if a little ls1 stock bore and all can do 495rwhp on my set and 500 plus on alex's car i would say there 238 intake runner will really do well on a 408. just saying.

So how accurate where the bores? What about that pistons? What brand of measuring instruments did you use? I've NEVER heard anyone boring/honing a block BEFORE having the pistons in hand to measure first.

good over all power hhhhmmmm should have done a turbo build for cheap then. stock heads 234's or 799's would have done the job.

Gm castings will perform well especially for the money. But to clarify, I dont care who has worked the castings, an aftermarket head will out perform them. Its not all about peak flow but area under the curve as well. Now whether or not the gains for the money are worth it to you is your choice. But to say gm heads are better than a comparable set of afr tfs etc is flat out wrong.
Someone feel free to prove me wrong, and not by comparing a 238cc head against a 205cc one.

Your wrong!!!!! Stock castings with valve jobs good valve jobs perform. There is a lot more to it. Super stock guys net close to or over 600 fly wheel hp. With stock heads and no port work just valve jobs and milling

And I didnt debate that. I said show me where a gm casting out performed a comparable aftermarket head.
Im well aware of the power people have made with gm castings
