GEN IV vs GEN III - IRON BLOCK ?
Forgive a dumb question . . .
What are the differences between the Gen IV cast iron block vs. the Gen III cast iron block ?

If a 4th gen F-Body is the car it's going into, is there a preference, due to the sensor locations ?
I was think of an LS6 Valley Pan for the PCV setup .
Thoughts ?

I'm going with the GEN III LQ9 block.
Building the entire motor . . . 408
LQ9 block, L92 CNC heads from SDPC, Comp Cams rocker arm trunnion kit, Wiseco / K1 4340 Crank (4" stroke) / 4340 H-Beam rods (6.125"), JE forged flat-tops (11:1), Napier 2nd rings, LSX 102 mm intake / Cable-operated throttle body, etc.
Thinking of getting Patrick Guerra to spec the cam . . . Is he as good as the "rumors" I have heard ?
Thanks !

Sounds good to me !
Rest of the combo will be a 4L80E ( 2.48 / 1.48 / 1.00 / .75 ) and a Strange S60 ( 3.54 or 3.73 gears )
Still undecided on how much converter I'll need . . . Thinking around 3000 rpm, give or take ( This is going to be a true "daily-driver", not a "weekend toy" )

I've got a gen IV lq9 built by TSP but for some reason when swapping over the 3 sensors on the side of the block they were on opposite sides of what they were on my ls2 that I was taking them off of. I know this is a dumb question but the 3 sensors on the block, are they all knock sensors? There are two on the passenger side and one on the driver side. I dunno if my sensors were backwards b/c I have a gto or if it was possible that i was looking at the one block upside down and it didn't click. Too late for me to go out and double check but glad to know there extension harness if I need it b/c that is one part that had me worried.
Word of advice DO NOT put an edelbrock timing cover on your motor. It took 2 weeks of work to get it clearanced to fit. I dont think Aaron at TSP will ever sell one of those again.
