I got the Vic Jr. for my 408 LS3 heads with Fast 4150 T/b no hood clearance problems I will be using drop base:Spectre Part # : 98323

Application:
Cowl Hood Design With Tray - Extraflow™ 14" X 3" Red HPR™ Filter

Features:
• Universal open top airbox designed for cars and trucks with cowl style hoods. Seals to the underside of the hood to isolate the filter from the hot underhood air, drawing cool outside air from the base of the windshield
• Overall air cleaner height is 4.2"
• Powder coated drop base lowers the air cleaner 1.7" for an overall 2.5" from the carburetor flange to the airbox sealing edge

You better be spinning your motor pretty high or the loss of low end will bite you in the ***. For certain applications it is kick *** and makes significant gains over a FAST. But you need a high shift recovery and high stalled converter.

Will be running one on my N/A 454 LSX but its got a 4.6k stall and will be reving a little over 7K.

Def a good change, but you'll have to turn 7k+ to make it work.

Tony is a good friend of mine. And yes, he is contemplating testing with the Holley Hi-Ram w/cathedral ports to go with his Mamofied AFR255 cathedral port heads. He has been so swamped with work that he hasn't had any time for his personal projects.

HKE did a 5.3 for me with high CR and big cam and I used the Holley high ram intake and I made 499.6 RWHP to the wheels. This was one 2004 Silverado truck with a 5800 stall and 5.38's it ran a 11.0 @ 123 MPH. I would shift this little monster at 8300.
