I know these threads are a dime a dozen, and I apologize in advance. But.. more perspective is never a bad thing. So, I'm figuring everything out for my build before I start ordering parts, and I thought I would get a few different opinions.
The engine is a 418 LS3, and I'm probably going to use Advanced Induction 280CC heads, FAST 102, matched TB, &etc. It's going to be a daily driver, and should have reasonable driving manners. The trick, of course, is that 'reasonable' is relative. I don't mind some down low cam surge. In any event, the car should weigh ~2700-2800LBS with fluids and no driver, so that might help in your estimations. The rear is currently a 4:10, but will likely change to something like a 3:55 in the future. It will likely never see any nitrous, and, if it does, it will probably not be more than a 100 shot.
Thanks in advance!

That car is going to be an ANIMAL! We've done several 944 Porsche, miata, and RX7 swaps that weight that much and 400 rwhp is down right scary!
Those heads flow really really well. So having said that don't over cam it! Unless your planning on running sheet metal intake with a 6-8 inch runner and a good bit of plenum volume I would limit intake duration to say 235 ish MAX. The exhaust should be no less than 243 ish.

The current set-up made ~400/400 with a ported LS6 mani/TB, +bolt ons 383. Sorry it took me so long to reply, I didn't realize that there was anything going on in this thread. The trans is a T56, by the way. I'm shooting for >500/500 N/A out of the 418. I'd like to keep the factory hood, and a Fast 102 is going to be a stretch to make it fit. So, anything besides a plastic intake probably won't work.

Making that power with a 418 and those heads would be no problem at all. We just finished two cars with the same heads both 376cid (LS3) that made 500 rwhp 470 rwtq. both drove like baby's, had the stock LS3 intake, and made GOBS of down low power and torque. We used our '545 cam for both.
