It's kind of funny, I keep looking at jegs and summit and they keep moving the shipping date back. I assume it's due to delays but I guess it could be they are selling all the ones being produced. Does anyone know?

 

I haven't seen one yet, I'd assume they're pushing back production to keep fish biting. I don't like the goofy main caps.

 

Last week the first blocks were being finish machined, and I believe they had some on back order. I would bet money you will see pictures online when they start getting delivered.

Lets take a step backwards with this beefy skirted block. I'd like to see a plain jane cast crank, 2 bolt main SBC turbo engine live at 800+ RWHP

That's what got me when I first seen it. I'm thinking if gm thought the old style sbc mains and block was a superior design then why would they spend millions developing a new deepskirted 6 bolt main block to replace it? Dart thinks otherwise appearantly.

 

The deep skirt design of the LS was done for noise reasons, not strength. The splayed 4 bolt mains will be far superior in high hp applications, and the open sides will help with windage problems that get worse on the longer stroke engines. When they get the raised cam blocks out to market it will be interesting to see the potential.
