This thread has a ton of good info in it. It has helped me make some decisions on my build over the last year. Now I am ready to see what it does.

I am waiting on my short block from ERL right now. I feel like a kid in the back seat on a road trip. Are we there yet...are we there yet...are we there yet...

I will not be surprised if it crosses the 800BHP mark if you spin it up to the 7500rpm range...assuming that your cam is as nasty as I suspect it is! That intake also has me expecting HUGE numbers.

I am going to go through Tick for my cam as well it looks like so I am heavily interested in this.

I have my block back from ERL and I'm slowly putting the pieces together so I am fully rooting for you. Be sure to post pics and document the whole process / take notes I am really interested in how it all goes.

Cheers,
D

I will definitely take notes and pics/vids....I am just excited to see what it makes either way...and yes Martin spec'd a pretty nasty cam for this thing....

These long runners don't like high rpm.....

Curious in the results

That is why I figured we run it out to 7500 and if the power drops off way before that we can adjust from there...What do you run yours out to LPE

Thanks LPE...I am sure we will keep an eye on it and adjust from what the numbers tell us...

As far as my duration numbers I am not %100 sure right now, but i think they are somewhere in the 25x/26x range...

Define "adjust".....

You building this for street, track or an internet dyno #? Getting a number is easy (ish).....tuning it to function properly is the hard part.

Mine is coming out this winter for a few updates and in the end will probably lose some of the peak power. The trade off will be improved drive ability in the rpm range I spend most of my drive time.

Default expectations

well now i'm very interested in what you get on the dyno.....you're now about 1 month ahead of me for a dyno number. but expecting 800+ number was not my expectation, I was thinking ~720 on my set up....the biggest difference between yours and mine was the intake. i'm running the mast 4500 and my cam is a smidge smaller than yours 248/256...i'm also running a dry sump not sure if there's anything measurable there....Can't wait to see some number Brian....

I'm looking forward to it too. I have a Mast intake and cam is larger.

LPE...by adjust I mean more for a driving (shift point) perspective...also there is no point in running it to a crazy high rpm if I quit making power up there, so we will likely only run it out to say 7200 or so...I am hoping for good power across the board, not extremely concerned with having a high peak number dyno racer....people just ask what I hope it makes so I throw out the 800hp number...

Tony...I was planning on running the MAST 4500 intake as well, until the kinsler came up for sale at a price that I was comfortable with....plus it looks bad *** and I hope it will make some good torque down low....so that is why I went with it...BTW it is Briou not Brian....weird name, I know....

I thought the benefit of the itb was the crazy peak power, great drivability, wide power band, and ability to run huge cams?

I missed any updates on this build but are you expecting over 800hp on 93 octane Naturally Aspirated?

All true....no way could I run the size cam I run on the street with a plastic intake / single plane set-up. It still comes down to combo, tune and how "streetable" is perceived. My objective is to optimize my combo. After some time on the street, I think there's some opportunity for improvement.
