Whats up guys...trying to be better about posting updates...I know I have been gone for a year and a half but I have been making some progress on the car....most of the body work is finished, just need to get the fenders and doors done, then it can be painted. The cage is done and it looks killer. I currently have the car and will be doing the final mockup/fab work, (oil lines, brake lines, wiring, etc.) before it goes off to paint. I will post some pictures soon so stay tuned.

I’d mount it on the firewall. That’s where mine is. I’m a solid roller, and the valve covers have to come off from time to time. The valve cover placement would make that a challenge. I’m not sure that the heat from direct contact with the valve cover would be a good thing either.

If you go to the drag strip, the NHRA rule book says no mounting of fuel system lines or components to the firewall.
I'd find a place at the back of the intake if you have room. Keeps it cleaner looking.
Yeah my original thought was to mount on the firewall, then learned about the racing regulations so I'm sort of back to square one. I am going to see about building a bracket that comes off the head or intake to keep it up and out of the way.
I fabricated a simple bracket that mounts the FPR in front of the drivers side cylinder head. Closer distance and shorter lines from the fuel rails. And its a clean install.

If you have room between the back-center of the intake and the firewall, I'd look at putting it there.
Also, if you're good with a tubing bender and a flaring tool, hard lines are always nice and less "bulky" than braided line. Be sure to use stainless steel lines though, I think aluminum lines are too weak. Then a small bracket to support it that attaches to one of the valley cover bolts. Then run the fuel line high enough away from the heat of the headers over to the passenger side and down to the frame rail. Try to keep all the fuel lines on the inside of the frame rail as well.
That cage looks incredible. Did you build and weld that thing?!

This build was a great deal of inspiration for me. We will be some of the few people running ERL 454ci blocks now that they are no longer in that business.
