Default Help identify this brand of valve spring kit

Ok I could use everybody help on this. I bought a drop out and it seems to have some goodies on it. The motor (from junk yard) came with voodoo cam(not sure on spec, will call them tomorrow), comp push-rods, and some dual valve springs.

Could somebody help identify what brand/model/etc these retainers are? I am hoping that the previous owner purchased as a kit. I want to know the brand so that I can narrow down the springs spec. I am consider swapping out the cam and would be nice to know if these springs will be good for the next cam.

Please help if you can.

Thanks,

T

I can't tell from the pic if they are duals or a single with a damper. You can clearly see they are titanium retainers. Valve springs are cheap. I would just buy new ones for peace of mind

Springs will be hard to tell since multiple companies use the same damn springs and just repackage them with their name.

Take the cam number and call Lunati. I think that code LUN 55099 is generic for their custom cam cut grinds. If I have time I will check some of my receipts.
Yeah I called lunati and they said the grind number is on the front under the cam gear! Dam. Now I have to open the front.

those look like Patriot retainer and lock kit. So the springs would be the patriot "gold" most likely.

If it were mine, I would change them out as you don't know how many miles on them.

13112 114 isn't this the grind No. ? The 114 would be the LSA. I've never seen the grind no. placed behind the timing sprocket, but I guess it's possible

Usually patriot golds have a distinctive gold color to them those don't have that. They just have the normal grey spring color to them

Just a thought, but after you find out which Lunati cam you have installed in the engine, I would buy the Lunati springs recommended for the cam if you plan to twist the engine to its full potential.

For regular street driving, I'd remove the springs and test each of them to make sure that their spring rate, open/closed seat pressures matched up with what Lunati recommends for their cam. If they're off or don't match up to Lunati's recommendation, dump 'em. (Springs are easily to replace than a drop valve.)

Hope this helps.

Wow... I am having zero luck with this project. So Lunati wasn't able to identify the cam from any of the number on there. All they know is it's custom and potential LSA is 114.

Spings, I am still at a lost.

The only thing I know is Push Rods are Comp Cam HiTech 7.325"

So it's basically up to me if I would like to change keep it or replace the entire set. DAM ME!

If Lunati can't find the cam grind, you can send the cam off to be doctored to find the duration and lift. From there you can find what springs you need. Brian Tooley sells some springs that are .660 lift and works with most of the 95% of cams that are out there. They are $149.00 and should allow you to re-use your old retainers and keepers.

If you want to know the cam specs spend a few hours with a degree wheel and dial indicator.
