Has anyone had any problems with VVT?
Or is it fairly fail safe? On a stock motor, if the phaser fails, will the pistons hit the valves? Or will drivability be the only harm done? Trying to decide if i should do a VVT delete when i do my DOD delete.
Speaking of, I can keep VVT and delete DOD right?

Anyone building a performance motor that is the first thing done. Regarding VVT I am sure there have been some problems like everything else but from what I have seen and read it is very reliable. I am keeping it on my motor. One of the best things about VVT is that you can phase the camshaft to provide the best power through out the rpm range.

I am a GM technician and coming from the repair side of things, I've never seen it fail on an LS engine. The only issues I've seen is lifter failure causing cam damage (AFM engines and non AFM engines). I reuse the vvt actuator on those engines and have not had any issues. Keep in mind, these are stock engines in stock vehicles.
