Got it. I think I found him. You'll find me under SFC Nitro.

An LS3 does not use a 383 rotating assembly. The crank is the same but with a different reluctor but the pistons are quite a bit bigger. Stock size is 4.065" I think.

With a rotating assembly from TSP you get a 4.070" or 4.080" piston making it a 416ci motor. With a stock piston you get 414ci.

Ok. I put unknown for the time being. I think I'm still going to continue with the LS1 engine and not go the LS3 build due to budget.

They are pulling a bit of a premium from the junkyards. If you are building a motor from stratch the price difference isn't too bad. Maybe $1000-1500 more.

Ok. I might get a LS1 from the junkyard just to be able to work the build and still be able to drive the car. It's a thought.

What about running an LS2 block with LS3/L92 heads setup? You should be able to hit your numbers and stay under budget no problem and this way you get to use the LS3 heads.

Great idea and cheap with the LS3 intake/heads/fuel rails/injector. Thats what I had and it was a killer combo. I had a 230-236 cam with 11.1:1 CR ported LS3 heads. Stock LS2 block.

Was never put on the dyno, but good for 12sec@118mph with a crappy 0-60, street tires full weight,, 3:42 gear and couldnt shift the trans at high rpm. Around 460rwhp I'd say.

Thanks guys. I'll think about it while working the budget. I already have the stroker assy picked out for the LS1. Maybe in a couple of days I'll have time to dig further.

Added the LS2 option to post #1. Need to work the specifics on that in order to meet the needs. I'm still thinking that staying with the LS1 block will do the trick.
