Default PRC 237cc heads for ls1?

So a buddy of mine has a 408 built by Texas speed and is switching his setup. So I can get a killer deal on his PRC 237 heads and Tsp 248 254 cam. My question is, can I even run those on my ls1? Will they work? Has anybody done this? Thanks in advance!!

Those won't work on your ls1. Needs a 4.00+ bore to work.

Why do they need a 4" bore?

Could it be due to the 2.100" intake valve?

No. 2.100"/1.60" valves would fit unless the valve locations have been moved. But then the question is why do that?

Would the 4.00"+ bore be more of a recommendation then a requirement?

The combustion chamber is probably too big. Usually this just means you need to run a head gasket for a larger bore such as an ls2 head gasket. Otherwise the head gasket ends up being directly exposed to the combustion charge.
