Maintenance involved going solid roller?
But it seems googling would suggest a reliability issue with engines that see a lot of low rpm use ? In that the rollers on the lifters can take a pounding here, perhaps more so those using needle rollers.
Is that a concern ? I want solid reliable high rpm ability, but 70mph for me is 1600rpm so I would use low rpm's a lot.
Also, with the Jesel adjustables, what sort of valve covers are people using ? Or just some spacers ?
What height spacers ?
I'd need to keep as low a profile as possible, and ideally bolt the coils to the covers.
But I also dont want any **** that will leak.

I just need the valve covers and wish to replace springs before getting it together ( well after an engine rebuild too so might be a few weeks yet )

I dont see any ? ....they're there now
The Holley covers are quite nice, as are Katechs, although they sort of require coil relocation. I just bought new Firecore leads a few months back, so I'm not moving the coils anywhere these wont reach.
Valve cover mounting is just handy.
My cam doesnt have insane lift either, so that should help a little too. Just under 600 thou
The billet covers Granatelli are offering are nice too, but a little more than I'd want to spend.
Mine are just regular Sportsman type rockers, so look a lot lower profile than those pictured.
Might wait til I'm stripping the engine and trial fit the rockers with the stock covers just to see if I can make them work. Might save me some money if I can
I see some cheap spacers for sale on egay...but I'd rather a single valve cover solution with one gasket. Just less potential for leaks.

Katech look nice

The Moroso fabbed covers are quitre nice too, but just not as good as a proper cast piece
Looks like few have any provision for crankcase ventilation, so they'd need welded up to some degree no matter what I buy

I'd be happy enough using any of these if they would fit. Pricing from what I can find looks good too.
Although I notice few breathers and no oil fill ?

Yes those and they have an oil fill on the driver side.
Bare metal finish, as I may need to weld to them anyway, may as well get coil relocation brackets too, might be easier to adapt them than build from scratch.
This will be a huge help to me mostly for 1/2, 1km and mile work but it would also benefit over the 1/4 too.
I've had several camshafts over the past few years, and none have offered me the rpm's I want and very few dyno graphs I see anywhere make peak power close to 7k with almost any HR camshaft
There is no doubt HR can go fast, there is no doubt it is reliable on street. I'd say Ive went reasonably quickly in the areas where I race with the HR. But it has never given me the rpm's I need.
So I see a solid roller as the most likely option to give me that, which should hopefully make a huge difference once up around the 180-200mph region.
I already have the main components now anyway, just need the valvecovers and some springs.
