Main stud?

Main stud? So i installed my windage tray after i modded it to fit around the ARP 234-5608 studs i looked up the torque value for the new larger tray nuts and i could have sworn i seen 54ft lbs and that is what i torqued them too! I happen to look again and i see they only call for 28lbs 
i know the sutds will not be a issue but should i worry about the nuts or loosen them and retorque?
