Default Is there anything wrong with CTS-V Superchargers? Anyone have swap suggestions?

Why do I see these all over ebay for $600? I am curious because I have a LY6 that I am rebuilding but am concerned about the factory compression ratio for my power goal. I don't have the money to change out the pistons or stroke it and don't really want to cut .030" off the heads. I don't have a camshaft or intake yet (was planning on running the LS3 or L76 intake). What do you guys think about putting one of these on my 6.0L with the 823 heads? I am planning on having texas speed spec one of their dual spring cam kits for it.

What am I missing with these? Would they be good for 500-600hp? I tried doing some looking around if people are having issues with these or any specs from them but did not turn anything up. Going to keep looking. Figured if I can get a factory pull off unit all I really need is a cable 4 bolt throttle body and some injectors and also figure out the belt alignment. Not sure if it will work with my LY6 accessories or if I have to invest in different accessories.

Thanks!!
Shane

What you see for $600 is the blower cover and you will need many other parts to make it work. By the time you buy all the parts needed, you'll spend well over $5000.

Blower $600
Stock lid $150 or zl1 $300
Coolant reservoir for intercooler/ heat exchanger
LSA inj $150
LSA fuel rail $250
Necessary pullies/tensioners/balancer

Far from $5k. But not a simple bolt on

The G8 guys are putting the LSA blowers on their cars with great results. You can find a parts list pretty easy with a little Google searching and $3k seems to be a pretty common price once all said and done.

FWIW, I paid $475 for an LSA blower shipped to my door.

I think a fair number of these are take-offs from the recall for isolator noise. GM's recall repair replaces the entire supercharger, where a solid isolator can be purchased for $50-$100.
