Default Drill and Tapping Oil Pan

Anyone know of a good method for drilling and tapping a LS2 oil pan with it still attached to the block? Definitely do not want shavings in the pan, but removing it is a huge PITA.

Drill until almost through then add heavy grease or Vaseline to the bit. Add same to tap. Go slow and minimize the heat and the grease captures the shavings.

Use a 9/16 Rotobrach drill bit with some grease or vasoline. It is made to make a hole and not allow shavings in.
