Default L96/LY6 Pistons and then some

So, im pretty new to this LS World, so i need a little advice.

I bought a L96, from a junkyard.
Building it for a:
Camaro67
T56Magnum
3.73:1
Ls9 Clutch with 6-bolt Flywheel

I bought an LS3 Intake Manifold.(FlexFuel Injectors 52Ibs)
i have fitted LS2 Timing Gear (1 Home)
I am about to fit a Haltech Stand Alone ECU, with custom wiring harness.
MAF Delete. Speed Density Tune. (I do have access to a Engine DYNO)
1 7/8" FleeBay Headers
(yeah yeah, i know it is import stuff, but since i am from Norway, everything is.)
Dual 3" Exhaust all the way, with Mufflers.
3 angle Valve Job, and som Bowl Blending on the Heads.

Im Planning on to fitting a CamMotion Hydraulic. Street Friendly (No data yet.)
Since CamMotion has a CamModel with the name "GlobalWarmer" it has to be great stuff i figured out

LS7 Lifters
Trunion Uppgrade for Rockers.
Whatever Springs CamMotion throws at me.

I have pretty Much figgured it out i think, BUT.

PowerGoal is to get i street friendly. Preferable North of 500 Flywheel HP.

How much do the stock Pistons handle?
Engine has 128k Miles on it, so i may need new anyway.

And what is the Limitation on the Stockers.

No Turbo/Supercharger or Gas.

I do get the Machine work extremely cheap.
and maybe the Bump in CR will give me som HP for Free.

Anyone have some experience to share?
What to get. I do not like Slapping or other Noises, that im not in control of with my right foot!
Also Regards all the other stuff! Have i done something wery wrong?

I would think your goals are obtainable. It would be nice to up the compression ration. 128K miles is nothing for LS engines. Just replace timing set and new oil pump as insurance. Be warned..... you can not simply throw the oilpump one like a SBC.. try using the SEARCH function do find how to do it properly. (it involves using shims)

Rockers........Trunion upgrade is ALWAYS better than stock. If you cam it, most will say its a MUST. Remember...... if you cam, get matching pushrods and valve springs.

The GenIV bottom end is very stout and will work fine in your application to at least 6500 RPM. Pistons are fine too. One word of caution would on the cam choice though. The large cylinder head ports are a bit soft on the lower end of the RPM range and a huge cam wont help in a stick car. You might want to look into keeping the VVT since it will offer benefits down low. Don't let the naysayers convince you to junk the VVT. Look at the 5 gen camaro results and the fastest combos are guys running VVT.

Thanks!

The VVT stuff is gone.
I did not see the benefitts of is in a light StickShift.
(it is not a Gen V, compare apples to apples)

And there is probably a reason why the Aftermarket on VVT stuff is next to nothing.

Im probably keep things around 22x/23x
Ill take some advice from CamMotion.
