Default L92 370

I'm building a forged 370 and I have a set of l92 823 heads that I plan on using. I'm looking to make between 425 to 450 rwhp and the car will mostly be street driven.

I haven't decided on a cam yet but more than it will be a small cam. I'm thinking about sending the heads to advanced induction for some work. Is it worth it get the exhaust cnc ported being that my engine is only a 370?

What about the intake valves, is it worth it to swap out the heavier valves for the lighter valves that come with the ls3? I don't plan on revving the engine past 6500 rpm?

To get 425-450 rwhp you wouldn't even need to touch the heads

That's good to know, I'm still thinking about sending the heads to AI to get there budget porting and to mill the heads to 65cc combustion chambers.

Is that the one where they only port the exhaust side?

That would be the most I would do. Work the exhaust runner and keep the intake runners as is with just a valve job. That's really where the bigger gains are to be had along with the polishing of the chamber. And do keep the stock valves, no need for the heavy *** ss ones unless you're doing boost.

I currently run a 370 with L92 heads and LS3 intake. Previous cam was 370 to the wheels (im pretty sure close to 400 was achievable but I didn't mess with my spark tables. That was an 04 z06 cam. New cam 224/230 595/595 and I am pretty sure I have at least 410....You can run a larger cam but I wanted a daily that I may add a supercharger to later. cammotion spec'd the cam for me.

thanks, I don't have much time to tune and dyno so its a constant work in progress. I think someone running a t56 and a similar cam came out at 455 and cam guys were saying that was the top end of that combo NA.
