LS Specialist in Portland, OR?
Hello everyone,
I am building a very unique LS3 so I need to find someone that really knows these engines in and out, not just someone who can assemble one. I have been working with the former president of Katech and I will continue that as well but to have someone locally for machine work etc would be beneficial. Anyone have a reference in the Portland/Vancouver area?

I was looking into dry sump pumps and came across "Nutter Racing Engines", they are located in Vancouver Wa.
http://www.nutterracingengines.com/
I visited their shop to look at pump setups and ended with them doing all my machine work, plus assembling the short block.
I have always done my own assembly in the past(SBC), but have never done a LS engine before. I will have upwards of 15K invested in this engine and did not want to take the chance of mucking something up.
They are going to do the startup and run in on the dyno as well as the tune.
Check it out.

While it isn't Oregon it is close:
S&S Automotive San Leandro, CA Rick Santos.
NHRA and TAD racer They have been machinists for 40+ yrs Built the first blown alcohol SBC to run 7s in the 80s Their customers are global. I've used them for 18 years from Buick GN V6 motors and now LS stuff. They have an engine dyno as well.
Gene Fleury in Washington can maybe point you to someone closer. If you want his contact info PM me.
My latest motor is a 4.190 bore/4" stroke with AllPro Ls7 heads. S&S is doing this round of work. I have no concerns it will be done right. They have seen it all and fixed it all.

I’m in Portland. I know lots of LS guys. I do tuning for all sorts of them.
No clue who those forum members are.
I know both Tom Wong and AC Nutter. I help Nutter with dyno tuning. Great folks.

I'd likely go with Tom Wong, there are not many other tuners with his experience around... He's had staying power many have come and gone..
Oonce my Jeep swap is broke in, I plan on getting it over to have him fine tune it..
