Default budget 370 extreme abuse advice

picked up a lq4 to have some fun with, looking to build it cheap with some good power and can handle high rpms for a extended time.

gotten as far as
carb intake and msd box - makes the swap much easier
30 over
stock crank cleaned up or a ls2 unit - so far i haven't found anything saying ones is better.
ls3/l92 heads with better springs and upgraded stock rockers, otherwise untouched

now this is where i start to know enough to make bad life choices

for rods was going to use LSA rods with arp bolts, as they seem to be pretty beefy and cheap but it limits piston choices as they are 6.098. aftermarket rods open up pistion choices but adds another few hundie on the bill and are they worth it?

witch brings me to biggest thing. i have zero idea for pistons,
i know i dont want to go over 10:1 to keep it pump gas, also like to keep the set under 800. the motor is going to see a fair amount of stop start use and extended time at 6k, as high as 65 for burst. i know they will have to be coated to take the abuse, and that is all i got

An aftermarket piston for a 6.125 rob will wotk with the gen 4 rods... Youl just lose .5 compression . I'm doing the same Build.

Scat I beam rods are under $300 with ARP bolts. That's less than what it would cost you for the LSA rods and new ARP bolts.

You can run in excess off 11.5:1 with 93 pump gas so I don't know why you're limiting yourself to 10:1 in this day and age unless the only gas you can get is 87 octane. A set of Mahle pistons will run you $600 and more than be enough for what you need.

Lol, skip one coffee per week...that will save you more money than 89 octane.
