What are your goals......besides a calmer idle?

Because that's pretty much all you're gonna see with the two cams you've listed.

Also.....what's your compression ratio?

Possibly less overlap to cruise with 2.92 gears would be my guess.
They will likely pull farther in the rpm range but make less peak tq.
Either one would be fine, but add some advance around 111 to pick up the bottom end some. Wont hurt how the cam idles or cruises. They are so close really youre splitting hairs over them.

my goals is better drivebility , Less nasty raw hydrocarbons (raw fuel smell) and Calmer lope.
Compression with the current cam 10.8:1 SCR , 8.45:1 DCR
--
Does those cams listed weaker than the current one?
the current cam put down 428 hp , 432 tq .. it is nasty tourqy cam but its a bit hard to drive.

The first one then but if you dont have cats you wont get rid of the smell. less timing at idle will help the fuel smell but increase lope...but that cam wont lope much anyway.

Your current cam has about 2.5 degrees of overlap.

I'm 99% certain that the issues you want to clear up are the result of a bad tune.

Default Cam Choice #1 116 L/C +3

Hi, I agree with the KW "tech" as the new/old cams are so close.

My first recommendation would have been the #1 with the 116L/C +3 (Split Overlap)

The change will improve the D/D of your car with better Top End.

Let me ask a dumb question....is your car properly tuned? Changing to one of the other cams wouldn't make a significant difference if it is properly tuned right now....I am a bit suspect by your comment about how "Less nasty raw hydrocarbons (raw fuel smell)" which leads me to believe that a large part of your drivability may be related to the tune rather than the size of the cam.

Overlap will lead to that smell. like i said removing timing helps, but you'll still have it when you have nearly any amount of overlap. not having cats does it too.

look once I finished tunnig the the smell is acceptable but after a while let say 2 monthes or so it'll be back and I really hate the car for it .. Frien of mine has the 223/235 :: 116+4
on his ls3 engine + A6 and can barely smell the gas even though it catless

In my little experience.. positive overlap is the cause of raw hydrocarbons while negative overlap is pretty clean...
By the way l regret ordering the headers without cats. I think I putt 200 cell magnaflows

Sounds like a tuning issue to me.
I daily drove a bigger cam in our last LS3.

The 416cid that replaced our LS3 is using a catless twin 3 1/2" system without any fuel smells.

If you wanna spend the cash on a new cam, go for it.....your money.

My '95 Impala SS has a 6.5* overlap cam.....and it doesn't stink.

My '14 SS has an 18* overlap cam. Car shakes and shimmies like a bitch....but she don't stink.

Your car has only 2.5* overlap.....and she stinks. Trust me.....it ain't the cam's fault.

You have a tuning issue.....or you're running w/o cats.....or both. I'd bet a C-note on it.
