Default 6.125" rod choice for rod/piston LS3 build

I'm looking for feedback on rods for my 4.070" LS3 build. I have Wiseco 4.070" forged pistons that require 6.125" rods for stock stroke. Running a new GM crank from a LS3 crate engine.

I'm looking at either Scat H beam rods with ARP2000 bolts or the Callies Compstar rods with ARP2000 bolts. I was told by one shop they have better luck with the Scat rods being more "true" and not needing any work but that was for a SBC strokers and stuff. Just looking for some good rods around the $500 to $700 range. I'm open to other brands too.

When it comes to connecting rods is important to always ask for the horsepower rating associated with the particular rod I personally don't ever skimp here and use Manley billet even for high hp na just in case I decide to go force induction or nitrous i don't have to start over again.

I heard nothing but good stuff from Texas speed connecting rods been under rated.

Default Forged Rods + ARP

Hi Ernie, I have the same H Beam rods (6.125/.927"), the same plant as Scat/Compstar with ARP Bolts, USA Honed.

I can ship to your door (USA) for under $500.00.

Scat 4340 I beams would work great and they're about $300 from several site Sponsors.

Well I ended up ordering some callies compstar rods today. They should work well for my build. I'm planning on spraying it with a 200 shot eventually. Just a good build to pass the winter time that's approaching quickly.

Using the Callie's Compstar crank and rods in our 416" LS3.

The Molnar H-Beam rods are probably the best of the "cheap" Chinese forgings.

Tom Molnar worked at Oliver for a long while then started K1.

His rods use a proprietary ARP bolt, is light, and is forged with a tight eye on QC in China. Then finished here in the USA. Hard to beat for the price. And he will gladly talk to you about your build and help you out - even if it's not his product.

Otherwise, if you needed a USA forged billet rod... the Oliver, Callies Ultra, or Manley Billet rods would be better... but they are more than twice as much.

I completely forgot about the molnar rods. I seen where a guy had some in a turbo blazer making 1400+ or something. It had a molnar crank, rods, and wiseco pistons and twin billet 7876s. So no doubt they are a good product. I've got a summit card and had a $50 off coupon so I ended up getting the rods for like 587 and 6 months 0 interest. Wife don't fuss too much if I buy parts like that, not all the money gone at once..lol.
