Wow that is going to sound mean...

I am interested in hearing how your remote tuning goes. Are you ever going to get it onto a dyno?

The remote option sounds like a great way to get a reliable and safe tune out of the box.

Thanks for the thorough response on the DOD stands - much appreciated.

Yes, will dyno at Vengeance, and remote tune there as well. I’ve spent too much money to leave any power laying on the table at this point.
I will keep you guys posted.

Ok guys, engine is in car and running. Unfortunately I don’t have a video yet, but it’s coming soon. I’m struggling with a bad idle surge issue, and hope to remote tune soon. Injectors were sent to Mast for flow measurements to build tune, and got lost getting back to me. Finally found them and started car last week. Oil pressure is great, and valve lash noise is non existent.
Exhaust sounds excellent through new 2” ARH stainless headers, 3” X-pipe, and into Borla Pro mufflers. Very responsive throttle response in shop. I haven’t driven car, as I will wait until we remote tune to ensure all is good.
Pictures coming soon!!

Congrats on finally getting this setup together and in the car! That's a healthy cam for sure in a 434ci! I had a Cammotion solid 252/260 .714" lift cam ground for my 13:1 441 (4.190" bore/4" stroke) and AllPro LS7 heads/intake/4500TB (sitting on engine stand with no car for it yet.... sold my RX-7) and yours is gonna rock! Pleased to hear how quiet it is regarding valvetrain noise.

Good advise on the cleaning the gummy stuff that comes on lifters etc. I had to spend a couple hours getting all that crap off of a new set of Johnson link bar lifters and couldn't believe how hard it was to get off! As stated everything going inside the engine should be cleaned at least once.... if not 2x.

YT rocker arms at one point did have some manufacturing issues (they would crack/fail); however that was years ago and I'm sure they are using an improved quality material in them to remedy that issue.

Curious what it makes on the dyno and how it drives. 2018 will be a good year indeed!

Thanks guys! Struggling with idle/off idle tuning currently. Terrible idle surge. I’m using Mast electronics, and not a lot of folks want to mess with the system.
I’ll get there, and post up something soon.

Get your idle timing down around 14-18 degrees. Set idle speed high - like 1200. Once its stable, start working it down 50 rpm at a time. You might need to double your low rpm proportional air and halve your high rpm proportional air. Also try open loop. Fuel trims can make it surge.

Ok guys, good news. Spent about 4 hours today tuning on the car. I’ve been studying and researching tuning for the last month or so. I’ve learned a lot quickly, and I know just enough to be dangerous.
BIG thanks to Darth V8r, who took time out to call me personally, and spend some time on the phone educating me, and confirming some things I’ve learned lately. With his guidance, I was able to focus on a couple of areas that needed attention the most, and I got it worked out. Thanks Jacob!!!!!!!
Idle surge is gone. I can pretty much put the idle now where I want, and the engine responds to commands at idle. Ended up setting the idle at 940 rpm. Notice the hood prop in the video. Engine chops hard enough to make the hood fall while up.
I’ll get another clip up this weekend from the rear. It was 20 degrees today, and snowy. Supposed to be high 50’s and sunny this weekend.

I appreciate that, but the truth is you figured it out on your own. I think all I did was set your mind at ease that you weren't crazy.
