Default 58x to 24x conversion, need help

i am putting a LS2 out of a trailblazer ss in my 85 camaro. motor is a 58x, ive read alot of other threads about this and even spoke with hawks about it, but i would like to know if hawks is correct because locally i being told the module is fine and use it. So i have the lingenfelter conversion module, but hawks told me they wont even touch the car unless i replace the reluctor wheel to a 24x due many issues they have had using that module. i have a 411 ecm for it (out of a safari i believe) as well as the trailblazer one. the harness i was planning to use requires dbc, https://www.bp-automotive.com/produc...wap-harness-2/ . i already have a nick williams 102 dbc tb, that i cant return, bought on ebay. So i am looking for anybody who has used the module and their experiance with it. or anyone who has replaced the reluctor wheel and what all that entailed. like did u put in new timing gear with it, etc.

My 99TA's ERL 416 has the LPE 24x to 58x to conversion module.

Norris Motorsports did the install. Other than taking 1-2 seconds longer to crank the engine while it synchronized it wasn't noticeable. My experience so far is limited to ~550 miles of break in for the new motor.

There are two versions of the LPE box. I think the early versions might have had some heat soak or other issue because the current one is version two.

Ideally, changing the reluctor wheel is the best fix because there's is one less item to worry about or have issues. However, sometimes that's expensive compared to the box.

Default Cost of 58x vs 24xe

Hi, the 58x (60-2) is much better for engine performance increases.

The cost to change to the EARLY 24xe MAY be GREATER than to install the correct AIR DOOR/Calibration ?

I would ASK those HERE if a DBC calibration CAN BE DONE using the ECU that came with your new engine ?

If you want to do this yourself, I wrote a "How To" when I changed my reluctor from a 58x to a 24x to go into my 2005 GTO.

FYI, if you do change to a 24x wheel, yes you will need a "LS2" cam gear.

I think I paid Katech $50 to mount and weld my 24x reluctor wheel to my crank. That was 5 years ago and I never had any problems.
