I have a 5.3 that had DOD but no vvt. Pistons are flat tops with no reliefs, can these pistons be used with any sort of vvt? Custom tuned, limiting block, etc?

I see pistons with reliefs cut on eBay for $100 new with rings, any experience on those?

I am going to put this in a '79 jeep Cherokee 2 door. Not going to be a race rig, just trail & fun. Having the power down low and thru the curve would be nice.

I have an ecu and harness from a ~'08 express van with a 4.8. The harness would have to me modified for the vvt actuator, can this PCM support it?

 

Hi 313, I like VVT, my 2008 Escalade has VVT, works well with NO DOD.
I have the engine items if you want to upgrade, all 2nd hand. (NOS, low cost)
