Default Ptv clearance issue lq9 flat tops/ls3 heads

Has anyone ran into issues with piston to valve clearance running 6.0 flat tops and ls3 Heads? I know the l92 ly6 etc is notched for valve clearance. Also heads and block never decked using ls9 Head gaskets

L92/LY6 are notched because of the variable timing cam phaser
you can run your combo and stay safe by running a conservative 224/227 range intake lobe

Call Cam Motion and let them spec you a cam. They know their stuff!

Default Z-06 Camshaft for Turbo

Hi Rebel, I made 1250HP (Chevy Hi@Westech benched) using an OEM Z-06 camshaft.
The LS-1 engine was tested with a 4.1 stroke crankshaft at 22 PSI MAP. (twin turbo)

My ECU-882C-LS (two bar map) AND my IGN-1A ignition coils were fitted.

The TEST was paid by Comp Cams with TEN of their cams tested.
The Comp Cam camshafts failed to make power AND the Comp Valve Spring broke within minutes of a bench run-in.

Steve B. wanted to try an OEM Z-06 camshaft, in hand, for a quick base reference.
The first pull found a very smooth running engine, running VERY WELL, PROVING the engine was sound.
The calibration was then "fine tuned" with a report of 1250HP, pump fuel, record.

Needless to say, Ro M. was very happy at the finished engine to be placed in his Mid Engine car.

THUS use a $100.00 camshaft !
