Hey guys, picking up my new daily driver next week and want to do some mods. I'm thinking of milling the stock LS3 heads and keeping the standard cam. I know it's not a common thing people do but I don't want to mess with cams yet on this car. My past two daily drivers have become drag cars and this time I won't let that happen. Anyway I'm curious how much I can mill them without raising the DCR too much to run on pump gas (if thats possible at all) I figured because a stock cam wouldn't bleed off much.
The current mods already are LT's, dual 3", OTR style intake, 3.9 gear ratio through an A4. I want to see how close I can get to 120mph at the strip once I add a 4400 stall. I think I could get pretty close because a friend with the same car has gone 11.8@116 with the same mods but a 3.7 rear.

It would be foolish to pull the heads and not delete the DOD/AFM garbage. Milled stock heads (0.030" is common) and would bring the engine to ~ 11.1 which is stock LS3 compression and is fine with 91+ octane. If you want to keep it mild during the DOD/AFM delete a stock LS3 cam would wake that engine up and drive like stock.
